PHP & Perl

Hi, i'm a new member here :)
Currently, i'm doing my final project and i need to call a perl script from php files.
I can't find perl extensions in php.ini
I already installed ActivePerl in my computer and readme file said that i need to compile an extension in order to create php_perl.dll.
I followed the instructions but it still can't work.
Can someone help me how to configure perl & php, pls?
I'm using apache 2.2.4 and php 5.2.3. Thanks..
